About Us

The Government of Botswana and The De Beers Group of Companies own equal shares in the Debswana Diamond Company, which was founded in 1969. It is a major diamond producer in terms of both value and volume. In Orapa, Letlhakane, Damtshaa, and Jwaneng, Debswana operates four diamond mines. Debswana is a significant contribution to Botswana’s national economy. With approximately 5527 employees, it is one of the major private-sector employers. The company is dedicated to mining in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner, as well as contributing meaningfully to the development of communities near its mines and the nation as a whole, creating a lasting legacy.
