FAWENA Namibia

About Us

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a non-governmental organization based in 34 African countries that was created in 1992. FAWE arose from conversations among African Ministers and funding agencies within the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), a UNESCO-affiliated body that brings together all 48 Ministries of Education in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as roughly 44 financing agencies. The National Chapter of FAWE Namibia (FAWENA) was founded in 1999 with the cooperation of the Ministry of Education. FAWENA’s mission is to improve access, retention, and quality of education for Namibian girls and women.
